One Last Push for Playoffs
October 21, 2021 Guelph, ON - This Saturday, October 23rd, Guelph United FC (9-2-0) head to Mississauga, Ontario to take on their fifth-place opponents Sigma FC (4-4-3) in their final game of the regular season. With kick off scheduled for 1:00pm at the Iceland Mississauga Field, Guelph United is looking to redeem themselves after a devastating 1-0 loss last week to their rivals, Blue Devils FC. That defeat was #UnitedFront’s second loss of the season, but they still maintained first place in the League1 Ontario’s West division. A win this game could raise the Guelph side’s spirits even more as those three points would clinch GUFC first place in playoffs this season. Clinching playoff would allow GUFC to host the semifinals of playoffs, which is rare for a club to obtain in their inaugural season.
The last meeting between the Guelph- and Mississauga-based teams saw high tensions, a final score of 4- 2 for Guelph United.
