Our U21 team wins Southwest division and qualifies for playoffs

Guelph United U21 is the first of our teams clinching their spot in the League1 Ontario playoffs. After an impressive season in which they won 9 out of the 14 matches, our U21 squad capped off the regular season with a home win on Wednesday, against Whitecaps London U21, a 2-1 victory at Eastview Park, which saw our team go up to first place in the Southwest division.

This result wasn’t enough however, with Cambridge United U21 needing a win of their own against Windsor City U21 to clinch the division on goal difference. That result did not come, however, with Windsor obtaining an unexpected 2-2 draw which sees our team win the Southwest division and clinch one of the 4 playoff spots.

We now await the other 3 divisions to determine their winners, and to find out who we will face in the semifinals. Stay tuned to our site and our social media channels for details about when and where the match will take place.
