We are League1 Ontario U21 Champions!

After a tense final against Woodbridge Strikers at the Ontario Soccer Centre, Guelph United managed to get the hard-fought 1-0 win, and become the new League1 Ontario U21 champions!

The only goal of the match was scored in the 23rd minute by Osayuki Ibie, after an assist from Jordan Rioux.

Despite more possession from the hosts, the first half saw our team miss another two great chances to score, the ball hitting the crossbar twice. In the second half, Woodbridge increased the pressure, but our defense held strong, and helped Jake Findlay get his well deserved clean sheet.

Congratulations to the entire team for the second trophy in United’s short history, two years after the senior squad’s championship run. And thank you to all the fans who made the trip to Woodbridge to support us!
