GUFC Women signs Caitlin Crichton and Breanne Carreiro from Electric City FC

Guelph United Women has signed 2 players from Electric City FC. Midfielder Caitlin Crichton and goalkeeper Breanne Carreiro will join our team, after Electric City folded following the 2023 season.

Both players have been with the Peterborough club since 2022. Over the last 2 years, Caitlin has appeared in 33 matches, scoring 4 goals, while Breanne played in 23 games. 18 of these came during an impressive 2023 in which she posted 8 clean sheets, and ended up a finalist for League1 Ontario’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award.

Caitlin and Breanne are re-joining their former Electric City FC coach, Randy Ribeiro, who we announced as our new women’s team coach after the departure of Ivan Joseph.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to play for Guelph this summer! I’ve heard nothing but the greatest things about the club and the community. I look forward to being able to compete and develop playing for Randy again and I am looking forward to what I know will be a special and competitive environment!
— Caitlin Crichton
Joining a new team can be intimidating but Guelph United has created a great foundation and environment for its players. I’m excited to play with such a talented group of players and to be a part of the environment that has been created. Looking forward to the 2024 season.
— Breanne Carreiro
