2025 schedule: Centennial Bowl opener on May 20th
League1 Ontario released the full schedules for the 2025 season. We can now confirm our Centennial Bowl openers will happen on May 20th for our women’s team, against Simcoe County Rovers, and on May 25th for the men, against Master’s FA, as part of a double-header with GUFC Women.
Because of the Centennial Bowl only being available starting the second half of May, both our teams are starting the 2025 season with multiple games on the road (4 for the men, 3 for the women). Before the start of the League1 season, our teams will also play in the first round of the L1 Cup. GUFC Women will host Railway City FC, on a stadium to be announced, while the men travel to Windsor.
The season features a total of 21 home matches (11 for the men, 9 for the women, plus an extra home match for GUFC Women in the L1 Cup), and includes 3 double-headers. All of these matches are part of the very affordable season tickets, that start from $30 for kids and seniors, and $65 for adults. Get them here! Individual game tickets will also be available soon.
The competition format of League1 Ontario remains similar to last season. Our women’s team is part of the top-tier Premier Division, which features the top 10 semi-pro teams in the province, with the first place being crowned champion, the last place relegating to the Championship, and the second-last place playing a decisive game to remain in the division. GUFC Men is part of the second-tier Championship division, which features 12 teams. At the end of the season, the first place promotes directly to the Premier Division, the second place will compete in a promotion play-off match, while the bottom teams will relegate to the third-tier League2 Ontario (in a format yet to be announced by the league).
