Olivia Squared: Brown and Rizakos are back for 2025
Two of the three leading goalscorers in the three-year history of our women’s team are back at the Centennial Bowl for another season!
We are thrilled to announce that Olivia Brown and Olivia Rizakos, our 2022 and 2024 leading goalscorers, have re-signed for the 2025 season.
Olivia Brown has joined Guelph Union in 2022, and went ahead to score 10 goals in 18 matches in our inaugural season. She played for FC London in 2023, but was back with GUFC last season, scoring 4 goals in 10 matches. A nagging injury limited her output late in the season, but she is back and ready for another year.
Olivia Rizakos joined Guelph United in 2023. After a first season in which she played 14 matches and scored 1 goal, her offensive output exploded last year, when she led our team with 9 goals scored in 19 appearances, and won the GUFC first team MVP Award.
In the League1 off-season, they both played U Sports soccer for the Guelph Gryphons, and had a memorable year. Brown scored 11 goals in 14 appearances, while Rizakos also played in 14 matches, scoring 3 goals and recording 6 assists, and being named an OUA West First Team All-Star.
