Guelph United signs Irish goalkeeper Jack Harrington
Guelph United is happy to announce the signing of Irish goalkeeper Jack Harrington for the 2025 season.
Harrington, 21, was born in Dunshaughlin, Ireland, and spent the last few years playing in his home country, initially for the U19 teams of Dundalk and Shelbourne, and then professionally for First Division teams Longford Town and Athlone Town.
That last name might sound familiar to GUFC fans - that’s because Athlone Town is the team our former captain Amardo Oakley plays for, who spoke very highly of Harrington.
Last year, our new keeper made the move to Canada, and is currently enrolled as a freshman with Cape Breton University, playing for the Capers in U Sports.
“We are very excited to welcome such a quality goalkeeper to our squad. I am looking forward to working with Jack” - Keith Mason, GUFC Men head coach
Harrington becomes the 9th player announced for the new season. Stay tuned for more signings to be revealed in the coming days!
