GUFC Women signs defender Stephanie Geady and goalkeeper Hunter Jones
With two days to go before the start of our 2025 season, we’re happy to reveal two more exciting signings for our women’s team: defender Stephanie Geady and goalkeeper Hunter Jones.
Stephanie Geady is primarily a full-back, hails from Burlington, ON, and has spent the last 3 seasons playing U Sports soccer for the Laurier Golden Hawks, appearing in 18 matches.
In 2023, she signed with North Mississauga SC, and played in 11 matches for their Reserve team. She made her senior team debut in 2024, appearing in 6 games, and also adding another 12 for their Reserve and U-20 teams.
Goalkeeper Hunter Jones was born in Baltimore, ON, and played her university soccer for the Laurentian Voyageurs, in Sudbury. In the last 4 U Sports seasons, Hunter has started a total of 31 games. In 2024, she was named the Laurentian Female Athlete of the Year, and also an OUA East division Second Team All-Star.
Hunter made her League1 debut as a youngster, in 2018 and 2019, appearing in 3 matches for Darby FC. Last season, she played her club soccer with Pickering FC, in League1 Ontario’s Championship Division, starting in 16 of the team’s 19 matches of the year.
Guelph United’s 2025 season kicks off this Thursday, with a L1 Cup first round encounter against League2 side Railway City FC. The match will be played in Hamilton, at Hamilton Stadium (formerly Tim Hortons Field), and is included in the season tickets. Game tickets are also available on our site.
