Guelph United announces first signings for 2025 women’s team

Guelph United is happy to announce we have re-signed three players for the 2025 women’s season: defender Alanna Starcevic, and midfielders Kate Knafelc and Violet Hipkin.

The three become the first announced signings for the 2025 season - one in which Randy Ribeiro’s team will try to surpass last season’s 6th place finish in the L1O Premier Division.

Alanna Starcevic has played for Guelph Union/United since the inaugural season in 2022. She appeared in 50 matches during the last 3 seasons, becoming our second-ever player to reach the 50-game mark, after Tessa Ladhani. At the end of the 2023 season, she won the GUFC U21 Player of the Year award.

Kate Knafelc has also been with GUFC since 2022, appearing in 38 matches and scoring 3 goals.

Violet Hipkin joined us in 2024, and immediately became a staple in our lineup. She appeared in 18 games during the 2024 season, scoring 4 times.
