GM Keith Mason to take over as Men’s Head Coach in 2025

Guelph United is happy to announce that GM Keith Mason will take over men’s head coaching duties for the 2025 League1 Ontario season, following the departure of Justin Springer.

Keith Mason has coached Guelph United before, in 2021 and 2022, together with co-head coach Justin Springer. In 2021, following an impressive season in which Guelph United won the League1 Ontario title, Justin and Keith won the League1 Ontario Coach of the Year award.

Keith has also been a coach with the Guelph Gryphons, in U Sports, for an impressive 36 years, including 8 years head coach of the women’s team, and 25 years as head coach of the men. During his tenure, the Gryphons have won 2 OUA titles, and he has been awarded U Sports Coach of the Year in 2011, and OUA West Coach of the Year four times. Keith has retired from that position at the end of the current season.

With today’s announcement, Guelph United also reveals that Randy Ribeiro will continue in his role as women’s head coach, and will also serve as men’s first assistant, and head practice coach.

Mickael Rougette, who continues as men’s U20 head coach, will serve as set piece and assistant coach for the men’s team. Don Ferguson remains the goalkeeper coach.

The new coaching staff are committed and excited to work with the team, and we will all be driven by the burning desire to get back to the League1 Ontario Premier Division. The work to recruit a team capable of bringing us back to the top tier is already ongoing, and we will share details with our fans as soon as possible.
